Privacy Policy for Duel of the Mind's Eye

Last Updated: July 22, 2026

Duel of the Mind's Eye ("the game") is a browser game developed by Carrie on Accessibility. It does not use any backend service at all — everything happens locally, in your own browser.

Summary

Duel of the Mind's Eye does not collect, transmit, or store any information anywhere except your own device. There's no account, no sign-in, no server, and no leaderboard.

What Is Stored, and Where

The game uses your browser's localStorage — a small amount of storage built into your browser, tied to your device and browser only — to remember two settings:

The duelist name you enter is used only for the current visit — it is displayed on screen and read aloud if text-to-speech is on, but it is never saved anywhere and resets the next time you open the game. None of this ever leaves your device. It is never sent to us, to Carrie on Accessibility, or to any third party.

Text-to-Speech and Audio

Duel of the Mind's Eye uses your browser's built-in speech synthesis (the Web Speech API) to read instructions, controls, and combat results aloud, and your browser's built-in Web Audio API to generate the game's tones and sound effects. Both run entirely within your browser using voices and audio processing already built into your device or browser — no audio or text is sent to us as part of either feature.

What We Don't Do

Your Control Over Your Data

Clearing your browser's site data for this page will remove your saved Audio Cues and text-to-speech preferences. Since the duelist name is never saved, there is nothing to clear for it — it simply resets whenever you reload the page.

Children's Privacy

Duel of the Mind's Eye collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
