Falling Words

Type each word before it falls to the bottom of the box. The game starts slow, then gets a little faster with every word you get right.

  • Word difficulty ranges from simple letters up to a 6th grade reading level — choose the mode that fits, from Letters up to Long Words.
  • A word appears at the top of the box and starts falling. Type it before it reaches the bottom!
  • Letters you've typed correctly turn green. Typing the wrong letter flashes the word pink for a moment — just try again.
  • Press Ctrl any time during the game to hear the word read out loud again.
  • Press Right Arrow to hear the next letter you need to type. Press it twice quickly to have the rest of the word spelled out instead.
  • Press Esc, or the Pause button, to pause the game — Settings and Keyboard Shortcuts are both available from the pause menu, and pressing Esc again (or Resume) goes back to playing.
  • You have 3 lives. Letting a word reach the bottom costs one life — the game ends when you run out.
  • Turn Text to Speech, sound effects, and text size up or down any time in Settings.
